Pituitary stalk interruption syndrome. A rare congenital anatomical defect of the pituitary gland characterized by a very thin or “interrupted” pituitary stalk; an ectopic or absent posterior pituitary; and aplasia or hypoplasia anterior pituitary, with permanent deficit of growth hormone (GH).
