Kerrie Cazzari holds a BS in Mathematics and Computer Science from UNC at Chapel Hill. After a successful career in IT, Kerrie became an active advocate when her son was diagnosed with Fanconi anemia in 2001 at age six. She has been involved in helping him through his bone marrow transplant and his battle with multiple head and neck cancers since 2020. Kerrie is heavily involved in the FRIENDS data project and focuses on influencing research to improve cancer detection, prevention, and non-invasive treatment methods.
