Werner syndrome ATP-dependent helicase complex. Helicase involved in DNA repair that also has exonuclease activity. X-Linked recessive inheritance: Genes that are inherited on the “X” sex chromosome. Males have one “X” chromosome; females have two. If a disorder is “X”-linked recessive, it means that females must inherit two copies of an abnormal gene for the disease to develop, whereas males need only inherit one.
