Cancer care in Fanconi anemia (FA) is complex, and information about diagnosis, treatment and outcomes is often scattered across individual cases. This project will bring together medical records from people whose cases were presented to FCF’s Virtual Tumor Board and who consent to take part in the research.

FCF funding supports consent, record collection and analysis. Many individuals and families have already consented, and records have been shared with the research team. The researchers plan to publish two papers: one describing the Virtual Tumor Board program and another examining the FA-associated cancer cases it has reviewed.

This work does not change care today. The findings could help clinicians learn from shared experience and inform future cancer care guidelines for people with FA. It depends on the contributions of individuals with FA, their clinicians and the physicians who volunteer their expertise to the Virtual Tumor Board.
