Katherine De Los Santos grew up in Georgia in a close-knit family with roots in the Dominican Republic. Living with Fanconi anemia has shaped her passion for health care and community service. She recently earned her master’s degree in preclinical sciences from Mercer University and plans to attend medical school with the goal of serving underserved communities in Georgia as a physician. In 2024, Katherine received the Winn/Byrd Award for Adults with FA, recognizing her leadership and contributions to her community.

Katherine recently got engaged and is enjoying planning her wedding. She loves spending time with her cat, being outdoors, hiking, traveling, and sharing her faith.
