30th Anniversary T-Shirt Contest

FARF t-shirts through the years


To celebrate FARF’s 30th anniversary, we are asking our community to help design an original, limited edition FARF t-shirt. The winning design will earn you a scholarship to attend the FARF Symposium in downtown Chicago in September 2019. In addition, your design will be sold exclusively in 2019 to celebrate FARF’s 30th anniversary, and be featured on FARF’s website and promotional materials.

Submissions must be received by March 29th. The community will choose from finalists selected by FARF and the winner will be announced April 26th.

All proceeds from t-shirt sales will go directly to FARF research and family support programs.

Rules and criteria:

  1. This contest is open to anyone in the FA community, whether you are an individual with FA, a family member or friend, a donor or volunteer, a researcher, clinician or other healthcare professional. The contest is not restricted to Americans. International friends are encouraged to apply.
  2. Your design should reflect FARF’s mission of advancing research and/or supporting families. Keywords to think about include progress, research, science, innovation, support, and family.
  3. Each individual is limited to one entry.
  4. Any text on the design must be in English.
  5. The design should be submitted in one color: black.
  6. Your design should be at least 300 dpi and must not exceed 8.5×11 inches. Not sure what this means? Ask Sherri.
  7. Your submission must include the words “Fanconi anemia” somewhere in the design.
  8. Submissions must be original designs and contain no copyrighted material.
  9. You are not required to incorporate the FARF logo, but you may if you choose. Please contact for the appropriate version of the logo.
  10. Any designs containing profanity, nudity, violence, or inappropriate imagery will be rejected.
  11. FARF staff will select 4-6 finalists, whose designs will be voted on by the greater community (public) from April 8-25th. The winner will be announced April 26th.

How to submit your entry:

Email your design as a PDF or EPS file to by 5:00 pm Pacific time on Friday, March 29th. No late entries will be accepted. Please include the following along with your design: your name, age, state, connection to FARF, and concept behind your design (1-3 sentences). Submissions without this information will be rejected.


The winner of the contest will have his/her design featured as the official FARF t-shirt for 2019, which will be available for sale this year only. In addition, s/he will receive a scholarship to attend the 2019 FARF Scientific Symposium in Chicago, Ill., September 19-22 (travel expenses and lodging for three nights).
